Overview
HDB housing makes up 80% of the total dwelling mix in Singapore. To master the Interior design and renovation coordination for HDB homes requires crucial planning and sound material knowledge and application. This two-day interactive workshop will provide participants with the required knowledge and skills in design and planning for HDB BTO renovation.
The workshop will focus on role play and group case studies to pick up relevant skills for effective communication with all parties (ID, contractor, home-owner). Hands-on practical and experiential learning will be conducted to allow aspirant designers to acquire additional skills and knowledge on improving home renovation skills and processes. The desired outcome is to equip participants to have an edge in the employment process.

Prerequisites
- Basic knowledge of Guidelines governing HDB renovation, Renovation to be done by Registered Contractors, not DIY
- Read and interpret original HDB plan
- Basic technical drawing, drafting plans and symbols
- Use of measurement tape

Assessment and Certificate
An SITLEARN Certificate of Participation will be issued to participants who:
- Attend at least 75% of the course
- Undertake non-credit bearing assessment during the course

Instructor/s
Jake Yeoh
MD, ZLC
Jake specialises in interior design and project management for residential homes and offices. He currently teach at BCA Academy, major on Technical Drawing and Project Management. He is a Chartered building Surveyor, accredited by RICS and a resident consultant at Absolute Inspection.
He is the currently the Managing Director of Z L Construction Pte Ltd, a local based design and build firm and completed projects in Gardens by The Bay, for Coca Cola, Raffles Medical, All Saints Nursing Home and SSMC Water fab plants.
He holds a Bachelor of Science (Building) from the National University of Singapore, ACTA trainer certification, ISO9001, 14001 & 18001 Lead Assessor, Certificate in Interior Design for Homes and Contracts by Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.
